No. You do not HAVE to dress deathrock to be considered deathrock. The look is there, for some people it’s important but it’s not absolutely essential. Does the music resonate with you personally on a pretty damn deep level? Enough that it’s your favourite and you’d like to define yourself personally by it? If the answer is yes then you are a deathrocker. Of course, the normally dressed deathrockers and goths also should also not adopt that dreadful attitude that comes from the punk scene where they think everyone with vertical hair and a spikey jacket is just posing. If the clothes don’t matter than nobody gets to complain about it either way without looking foolish. ;P
